LanguageReef caters to the needs of Indian parents and kids who have moved out of the country or to different parts of India. With globalization we can see Indians moving to different parts of the world. Language Learning is a continous process. You don't learn a language in a day. It takes months and years to completely master a language. If you converse with your children in your language, they would be able to understand our culture better. When they start being bilingual at a very early age, they can easily pick up other languages as they grow up.
In this website, we are currently dealing with the following language scripts and picture dictionaries.

We provide picture dictionaries, basic vocabulary, rhymes(for some languages), downloadable worksheets for vowels and consonants, basic games to familiarize with the alphabets and script in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Marathi, Malayalam, Manipuri/Meetei Mayek, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. Very soon we will be adding Urdu in our website. We are constantly updating our website. You can follow us by subscribing to us on facebook and also in youtube.
About us
LanguageReef is the brainchild of Swarna J Pemmaraju and Srivalli Pemmaraju.
As the saying goes "Necessity is the mother of all inventions", when I started searching for material to teach my three year old daughter, the resources were not adequate. Either I had to buy resources from India and bring them here(while bringing books from India, we had to take in consideration the weight restrictions etc) or they were not up to the standard. Being a web developer who took time off take raise my family, I started working on this website in my free time. Soon it became my passion. Working in this site involves all the things I like namely web development, drawing, sketching, which are my hobbies from my childhood, learning new languages. Being Multilingual helped me a lot in developing this website. I had to learn PHP to work on this website.
In my spare time, I work on this website and also I am learning Spanish(I blog about my spanish learning experience at My Spanish Study Notes) and Japanese(Arabic and Chinese are next in the line of languages to learn).

I hold a Master's Degree in Chemistry from University of Madras and Master's in Business Administration from Indira Gandhi National Open University. With more than 12 years experience in the IT field, I enjoy working for LanguageReef.
Srivalli Pemmaraju completed her Phd in Mass Communication.
She is involved in creating and managing content for our website. She works on developing video and audio content for languagereef.
